The Artycapucines collection from Louis Vuitton is entering a new artistic chapter with a series dedicated to Keith Haring. Developed with the Keith Haring Foundation, the project combines Haring-inspired imagery with the construction and materials of the Capucines handbag.

The origins of the project can be traced back to the 1980s. Keith Haring once transformed a Louis Vuitton suitcase by adding his own artwork to the piece. The object later provided an important historical reference for the relationship between the artist and the fashion house.

Louis Vuitton returned to this connection during its Cruise 2027 show in New York. Haring’s artistic vocabulary became part of the visual environment surrounding the collection, creating a bridge between his original New York work and the maison’s contemporary designs.

The Artycapucines project takes that connection further through a dedicated range of handbags.

Exploring Haring's Recognisable Motifs

Keith Haring developed a visual style built around simplified figures, strong outlines, movement and recurring symbols. These characteristics have been adapted for the new Louis Vuitton handbags.

Different manufacturing techniques allow the artwork to be incorporated into the physical structure of each piece. The collection makes use of leather marquetry, embroidery, laser printing, embossing and enamel detailing.

Among the designs is an evening clutch inspired by the Running Heart motif. Its decoration includes a large quantity of crystals, creating a more elaborate interpretation of Haring’s graphic style.

The Keith Haring edition fits naturally into that framework. His bold visual language creates a strong contrast with the structured design and detailed leather craftsmanship of the Capucines.

Reports surrounding the launch indicate that selected handbags are expected to be introduced in October 2026, followed by a wider collection of clothing, leather goods and accessories in 2027.
